Assistant Team Manager - Contact & MASH - Buckinghamshire (Aylesbury)

Our client in the Buckinghamshire area is looking for an Assistant Team Manager to manage the Multi-agency Safeguarding hub.

The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is the single point of contact for safeguarding concerns regarding children and young people in. The Hub enable safe, speedy and efficient information sharing and professionals’ discussions to assist children services to make a quick and evidence based decisions on the level of risk and need involved on how to best safeguard/support children and their families.

They are seeking an enthusiastic, quick-thinking, conscientious and suitably experienced assistant team manager who can take responsibility alongside the team manager in ensuring appropriate safeguarding actions are taken in a timely manner on contacts and referrals received by the team for children and their families. The role will predominately be one of making safe evidence based decisions and progressing contacts and referrals in a timely manner in line with current safeguarding thresholds.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prioritise safeguarding concerns and ensuring appropriate action taken in timely manner
  • Making evidence based decisions on contacts and referrals and appropriately signposting children and their families to universal and community services
  • Provide advice and guidance on contacts and referrals to staff and partner agencies where appropriate
  • Review and monitor contacts and referrals allocated to staff in the team and ensure work is progressed within timescales
  • Supervise and support staff in the team as required
  • Support the team and service in developing and meeting the service plan objectives
  • Deputise for the team manager as and when required
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues and partners across children and families services.

All candidates will need to be an experienced Social Worker, hold HCPC registration and a Social Work qualification.
