Are you an experienced HCPC Registered Social Worker looking for a new challenge with a passion to help vulnerable families and children?

Our client in North West London is looking for experienced social workers for their Children In Need Team within the Peoples Directorate.

£29,727 - £39,294 with a market supplementary payment of £1500

Targeted retention bonus of £6000 payable as follows:

  • £3000 lump sum upon completion of the first three years
  • £3000 lump sum upon completion of a further 3 years without a break in service

Relocation scheme subject to conditions

This role involves ensuring our children and families are assessed promptly and receive the right service the first time, after assessment.  Applicants will be responsible for completing assessments for children in need of protection, children looked after and those subject to public care proceedings. Your caseload will consist of a number of children and families that require support and your role will be to provide solutions to improve the wellbeing of all parties by undertaking complex social work assessments, formulating care plans and building relationships along the way.

The successful applicant should have a passion for helping vulnerable children and families. You will use your wealth of knowledge to implement the correct procedures to ensure the needs of all parties are met. 

Role Purpose

  • To be the allocated Social Worker to complete assessments for children in need, including those in need of protection, children looked after, those subject to public care proceedings and, where directed by the Court, children subject to private law proceedings
  • To be responsible for the assessment, planning, monitoring and review functions for all allocated children and families.

You will be working for a highly experienced team who work under the evidence based model towards improving the outcomes for children and young people.

As a team of experienced Managers and Social Workers, you will be closely supported by working to ensure you meet the needs of children and families. 

To be considered for this role you will need a minimum of 2 years experience plus:
• A proven track record, experience of working and managing a caseload of child in need, child protection and    assessing complex children and young people’s needs in Children’s Services.  

Recognised Social Work Qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW)
• HCPC Registered

Acceptable enhanced DBS
• Full UK driving license preferred
• Detailed knowledge of the Children’s Act 1989
• Detailed knowledge of the “Framework for the Assessment of Children and Their Families”
• Ability to undertake complex social work assessments
• Experience of formulation support, protection and care plans
• Ability to negotiate with colleagues and partner agencies to resolve difference of opinion
• Ability to build effective, long lasting relationships with a range of service providers both from statutory and voluntary agencies
